Criminal Justice Services Powell Medical Lab Remodel Approved

During their Nov. 19 public hearing, the Mesa County Commissioners unanimously approved a $124,103 contract with Conner Constructors LLC to remodel the medication and nursing area at Mesa County Criminal Justice Services’ Powell Building.

Resolution approved to reclassify Mesa County as Category I-A

At the Nov. 19 administrative public hearing, the Board of Commissioners approved a resolution supporting legislation to amend C.R.S. § 30-2-102 to reclassify Mesa County as a Category I-A County for purposes of establishing the salaries of County elected officials. Before approval, the Board received a detailed presentation from the 21st Judicial District Attorney Dan Rubinstein explaining the need for the resolution.

Animal Services ​transitions to ​separate ​enforcement

Mesa County is implementing significant changes to its animal services operations to improve animal welfare and enhance public safety. Starting Jan. 1, 2025, Animal Services will operate under a separate enforcement and services model,​ a shift in how animal-related responsibilities are managed within ​Mesa County.
