Additional street sweeper purchased to bring cleaner roads
On Tuesday, Nov. 5, during the administrative public hearing, the Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved Mesa County Public Works to purchase a street sweeper, creating a fleet of two street sweepers, in operation, within the department. The new equipment will allow County crews to sweep every curb and gutter street in Mesa County at least once a year, creating cleaner and safer neighborhoods for all.
This initiative is a collaborative effort between our Road and Bridge and Stormwater divisions. When we perform regular street sweeping, we can significantly reduce pollutants and sediment from entering our storm drains, which helps protect our local waterways and keeps our environment healthy.
