Commissioners submit letter to BLM regarding upcoming December 2025 Colorado Oil and Gas Lease Sale
The Board of Mesa County Commissioners submitted formal comments to Mr. Doug Vilsack, Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Colorado State Office, on the upcoming December 2025 Colorado Oil and Gas Lease Sale, which includes 722.29 acres of split estate land in Mesa County. A "split estate" refers to situations where different parties own a property's surface rights and subsurface mineral rights. In this case a portion of the land available for lease has private surface ownership with federal mineral ownership.

Paint purchase approved for 2025 road striping season
The Board of Mesa County Commissioners unanimously approved the Public Works Department to place a $314,721 purchase order for 16,200 gallons of white paint and 11,700 gallons of yellow paint for the 2025 striping season at their March 11 public hearing.
