When families face challenges that bring them into contact with the child welfare system, Mesa County Department of Human Services (MCDHS) is here to offer support.

A Denver-based non-profit, Bergen Spay & Neuter Alliance, will host a four-day spay and neuter clinic at the Mesa County Fairgrounds, 2785 US-50, on Aug. 7 through 10, to offer discounted spay and neuter services to community members who struggle to afford the procedure for their pets.

The Trail Crew was developed with a vision to train the next generation of natural resource leaders. The team builds and maintains trail systems across the county in collaboration with municipal and community partners.

During the Board of Mesa County Commissioners' July 8 public hearing, they approved two resolutions — one to amend the Mesa County Fiscal Year 2025 Budget and another to amend the authorized staffing level for Mesa County. Amendments to the budget include recognizing new revenues and authorizing appropriations based on new information not anticipated in the adopted 2025 budget.

Crews continue to advance the road construction project on Coffman Road, widening and replacing the road just north of Whitewater. There is a full road closure in the area for the duration of the project, and detour signs are posted.
