The Useful Public Service (UPS) program is essential to our local justice system — it acts as a bridge between individuals required to complete court-ordered community service and the nonprofit organizations that make up the backbone of our community.

At the May 21 administrative public hearing, the County Commissioners approved a $7.43 million contract amendment between Mesa County and Buildings By Design for the construction of the GVT Fleet Maintenance Facility at 2553 Riverside Parkway. Following the contract amendment approval, a long-term lease between Mesa County and the City of Grand Junction for the GVT Fleet Maintenance Facility was also approved.

Smoother roads in Mesa County are right around the corner, with the Mesa County 2024 Overlay contract approval taking place at the Board of Commissioners' public hearing on Tuesday, May 21.

Mesa County and the City of Grand Junction invite the community to a public meeting to discuss a new I-70 interchange at 29 Road on Tuesday, June 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bookcliff Middle School Gym, 540 29 ¼ Rd.
