Mesa County Public Health has been made aware of a recall involving ice cream products. These products are being recalled due to a potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes.

Did you know that June is Adult Protection Awareness Month? At the June 18 Board of County Commissioners public hearing, Joe Kellerby, the Director of Child Welfare and Adult Protection with the Mesa County Department of Human Services (MCDHS), briefed the Board on the importance of adult protection in Mesa County.

During their June 18 public hearing, the Board of Mesa County Commissioners approved an amendment to delay the payout of a grant awarded to Mesa County Behavioral Health (MCBH) by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) in 2023. The $4.5 million grant was awarded for use in the 2024-2025 Fiscal Years. The amendment comes after the BHA experienced delays in issuing the grant, prompting them to offer an extension of the original award through June 30, 2025.

The Mesa County Behavioral Health (MCBH) Director, Lisa Mills, presented a departmental overview at the Board of Commissioners' June 18 administrative public hearing. The update included an explanation of Behavioral Health’s mission and duties and a departmental progress report.
