Mesa County invites mental health professionals, first responders, medical staff, and community members to attend Mesa Talks, a two-day summit on mental health, on Oct. 10 and 11. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Colorado Mesa University’s University Center, located at 1100 North Ave.

The Board of County Commissioners authorized the submission of a $1.575 million grant application to the State of Colorado’s Underfunded Courthouse Facility program during their Sept. 24 public hearing. If awarded, this grant is intended to help fund the ongoing Mesa County Justice Center improvement project, demonstrating Mesa County’s commitment to providing modern, efficient court facilities that meet the increasing demands of our legal system.

At their Sept. 24 public hearing, the Board of Mesa County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution opposing Colorado Proposition 127, an initiative to prohibit hunting mountain lions, bobcats, and lynx.
