September 4, 2025
Exciting news for Clifton residents and Mesa County road users — crews have made significant progress on the 32 1/2 Road and Clifton Campus Roadway Improvement Project and are right on track to achieve their completion date of Oct. 3, 2025!
We are excited for our community to experience crucial infrastructure upgrades to the Clifton area, including safety and accessibility enhancements, when the project concludes.
What's included in the project?
- Phase 1: Crews will replace the bridge over the Grand Valley Irrigation Canal on 32 ½ Road, just south of Friendship Drive.
- Phase 2: Construction of a new roundabout and roadway extension at the intersection of E Road and 32 ½ Road, connecting to the south end of 32 ½ Road near D 7/8 Road.
- Phase 3: Widen D ¾ Road between East Chukar Way and West Chukar Way to a full residential road. A new sidewalk will link Rocky Mountain Elementary Park to the existing sidewalk west of Mountain Vista Drive.
Please look out for detours in the area and slow down in construction zones to the posted speed limit. Stay tuned for updates on the project's status. You can call the project hotline at 970-549-9611 with any questions about the improvement project.
